Who we are
soybean is a personal skincare companion app developed by Alice Ha. By using soybean, you are entering into an agreement with Alice Ha ("we", "us", "our").
Your account
- You must be at least 13 years old to use soybean
- You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure
- You are responsible for all activity under your account
- One person per account — accounts are not transferable
- Your handle must be unique and must not impersonate another person
What you can do
soybean gives you a private space to log your skincare journey — journal entries, product tracking, routines, and personal stats. You may use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes.
What you may not do
- Use the app for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to access other users' data
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or otherwise extract data from the app
- Upload content that is harmful, offensive, or infringes on others' rights
- Use the app to impersonate another person
Your content
You own your journal entries, product data, and any other content you create in soybean. By using the app, you grant us a limited license to store and display your content to you within the app.
We may use anonymized, aggregated data derived from your usage (for example, average spend by skin type across all users) to improve the app and generate community insights. This data cannot identify you individually.
Availability
We aim to keep soybean available and working well, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. We may update, pause, or discontinue features at any time. We will give reasonable notice before any significant changes.
Disclaimer of warranties
soybean is provided "as is." We do not make any warranties — express or implied — about the app's reliability, accuracy, or fitness for a particular purpose. The app is a personal tracking tool, not medical advice. Always consult a dermatologist or healthcare professional for skin concerns.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of soybean, including loss of data.
Termination
You may delete your account at any time through the app or by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Upon termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the app evolves. We will notify you of material changes via the app. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the province of Ontario, Canada, without regard to conflict of law principles.
